THE HUMAN RACE THEATRE COMPANY's
SUMMER STOCK TEENS TURN SHAKESPEARE's CLASSIC
ON ITS EAR WITH ROMEO AND WINIFRED, July 15

(Dayton, OH) – July 3, 2006 – The Human Race Theatre Company's 2006 Summer Stock Teens program presents Charlie Lovett's Romeo and Winifred, a hilarious spoof that turns Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet upside down with modern-day characters, for one performance only.

Romeo and Winifred takes place in New York City where upscale Montague's Department Store is fighting with its rival Capulet's Discount Mart. With a white leisure suit-wearing Romeo, a nurse obsessed with paper cuts and pie fights instead of duels, this comedy is sure to entertain the whole family!

Directed by Katie Pees, the cast includes: Katrina Baker, Jake Basnett, Nate Benedict, Tyler Benedict, Ricke'na Bennett, Lydia Bianchi, Ashleigh Burcham, Caroline Clarke, Katy DeAloia, Nathan Evans, Brittanii Fader, A.T. Farrell, Michael Frazier, Alexandra Hoskins, Michael Light, Charles Logan, Stephanie Montgomery, Mary Kate O'Neill, Hilary Paisley, Mary Joan Payne, Jordan Philpot, Chris Poeschl, Suzanne Schott, Hannah Stanton- Gockel and Krista Weltner.

The associate director is Scott Stoney and the assistant director is Kehler Relick. The producer is Marilyn Klaben. Michelle Young is the set designer, Carol Finley is the costume designer and Will Haas is the lighting designer.

Dress rehearsals are on Friday, July 14 at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Summer camp groups are invited with advanced reservations for $1 per person, and the press is welcome to attend.

The performance of Romeo and Winifred is on Saturday, July 15 at 2:00 p.m. in The Loft Theatre at 126 N. Main Street in downtown Dayton. Tickets are available at the door before the performance. Tickets are $7, and $5 for children ages 6 - 12.
