DAYTON, OH - October 3 - As part of their joint Theatre in Context program, The Human Race Theatre Company and The Muse Machine will be taking a program of 16 excerpts from Mark Twain works and quotes to about 50 Miami Valley schools through November 3, 2006. There will also be presentations for the general public Sunday, October 22, at 2 p.m. at the Main Dayton Public Library Branch at 215 E. Third St., and for the Western Ohio Education Association at The Loft Theatre on October 13.

Be ‘Twixt and Be Twain is designed to provide a slice of Twainery within a classroom period. Segments run the gamut from Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer to Noah and the Damned Human Race and The Great French Duel.

Be ‘Twixt and Be Twain is directed my William Morse, who has been amazing audiences with his one-man show, An Encounter with Mark Twain, for three decades. Cast members, all of whom play multiple parts, are hometowners Ray Geiger and Heather Gorby, Tom Stitzel of Springfield, Lise Evans of Columbus, and Andrew Boyd Stewart of New York.

The Human Race Theatre Company will be continuing an autumn of Twain when it presents the Broadway hit Big River, the Huck Finn story set to music by country legend Roger Miller, November 30 – December 17 at The Loft. Founded in 1986, The Human Race Theatre Company presents universal themes that explore the human condition and startle us all into a renewed awareness of ourselves. The company moved to the Metropolitan Arts Center in 1991, taking up residence at The Loft, a 219-seat theatre.
