Adam Long began his professional life as an accountant for an anti-nuclear political action committee by day and bassist for an acoustic punk band by night. Then he put on a skirt and wig and became a founding member of the Reduced Shakespeare Company. Adam toured with the RSC, spent five years following The Grateful Dead, performed stand-up comedy in Canada, became a Buddhist, and finally settled in England where he lives in London with wife Alex, son Joe, daughter Tilly, friend John, four guinea pigs, a fish, two tortoises, a cat, and a small grey rabbit called Willard.
Daniel Singer has been a theatrical impresario from the moment he looked up the word “impresario” in the dictionary, founding his first company, General Amazement Theater in Santa Rosa, California, when he was just 18. Upon his return from studying “proper dramatic technique” in London, he became a director at the original Renaissance Pleasure Faire, where he founded the subversive Reduced Shakespeare Company, whose three-man farce The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) enjoyed a record-breaking run in London’s West End and has since become one of the world’s most popular comedy shows. In 1989, Daniel hung up his doublet-and-hose to design theme park attractions at Walt Disney Imagineering, where he also co-founded the Flower Street Players, an in-house theater company for Disney employees. Since 2000, Daniel has been a freelance designer, writer and event producer in Los Angeles. His new hit comedy A Perfect Likeness chronicles Lewis Carroll’s (fictitious) attempt to get his literary hero Charles Dickens to pose for a photograph in 1866 Oxford. Jess Winfield is an original member of the Reduced Shakespeare Company, co-author of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), and performed with the troupe from its founding in 1981 until 1992, when he realized he’d played the title role of Hamlet more times than John Gielgud and Laurence Olivier combined and suddenly felt very old. He left the troupe to write and produce animated television for the Walt Disney Company, which made him feel young again — until he’d been there for ten years, at which point he felt old again. He left Disney to write My Name Is Will — A Novel of Sex, Drugs, and Shakespeare (Twelve Books). Depicting excessive drug use and promiscuous sex by both a would-be young Shakespeare scholar in the 1980s and the 18-year old Immortal Bard himself in the 1580s made Jess feel young again; but then he and Daniel Singer revised The Complete Works in honor of its 20th anniversary and directed it in the West End, which made him feel old again. He now lives in Hollywood with his wife (and original RSC costume goddess) Sa, and is working on his second novel… which makes him feel like he’s in his forties. www.jesswinfield.com.

Noelle is honored to join the production team here at The Human Race Theatre Company. She has been the resident costume designer for The Know Theatre of Cincinnati for nine seasons. Noelle’s background is in textiles and fabric art & design (BFA Fibers, College of Mount St. Joseph), (MFA Textile Design, Savannah College of Art & Design). Noelle has also worked with The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, The Cincinnati Opera, The Cincinnati Ballet, ArtWorks, Madcap Puppets, Cedar Fair’s Kings Island, LF Creative Group, Riverbend, U.S. Bank Arena, National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, and The Costume Designers Guild (CDG Local 892).
John is the long-term Resident Lighting Designer for The Human Race Theatre Company, Muse Machine, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Pops series and Dayton Opera Association. He also serves as the long-time Technical Director for the Fraze Pavilion and has provided technical advance production coordination, lighting designs, automation programming and performance operation services for many artists and productions that have visited that venue. John also has a diverse dance lighting background, having provided lighting designs and technical production services for many years to The Dayton Ballet and Dayton Contemporary Dance Co. John’s national credits included a lighting design package for a National Touring Production of the Elton John/Tim Rice collaboration Aida. Some of his most recent local credits include all the designs for The Human Race Theatre Company’s season at the Loft Theatre; Muse Machine’s productions at the Victoria Theatre and the Dayton Opera Association’s 2016-17 season at the Schuster Center. John recently had his driveway repaved! And a new garage door.
Jay has designed sound, music directed, performed and composed music for countless theatrical events and is proud to call The Human Race his artistic home. He has composed music and recorded audio projects for many musical groups, voiceovers, regional commercials, radio spots, training videos, collegiate theatre projects, marching bands, clubs, and organizations. Jay owns and operates a professional recording studio (Audio Forest) with his wife, fellow HRTC Resident Artist Christine Brunner.
Jacquelyn is stoked to be stage managing The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised]. Jacquelyn is originally from Toledo, Ohio and received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Theatre Design/Technology with an emphasis in Stage Management from Wright State University. You’ve seen Jacquelyn working as the production assistant for The Human Race since Hail Mary! in October 2016. She recently stage managed Brighton Beach Memoirs. Bruce has been an Actors’ Equity Association member (the stage actors’ union) since 1981, performing in over 170 professional stage productions: at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Milwaukee Repertory, etc. Bruce is one of the original Resident Artists at the Human Race Theatre Company. A busy voice-over artist for ThinkTV, he has also done one-man shows with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. Bruce is a certified teacher of Stage Combat with the Society of American Fight Directors, and a professor in the BFA Professional Actor Training Program at Wright State since 1987.
